Candy Store!!!

Bonjour mes amis! Pour les lecteurs en France, I should say bonsoir, but here in Chicago it is 10:03 am and my day has just begun! I found some old pictures on my phone from when my family and I visited Austin and stumbled upon this old-timey candy shop. I thought you might enjoy them:

I enjoyed Austin so much! It was very hot there, high 90's the whole week!

Exciting Announcements!

Bonjour mes amis et de nouveaux lecteurs! 

I know I haven't posted in ages and honestly I don't have an excuse. I was suffering from a lack of inspiration. School got out and I now have more time to update my blog. 

Today's post is about some new exciting announcements! Just recently in May I auditioned for a student film about bullying and booked the "job". Since it was non-union, I was not paid. *If you are confused about non-union, union, and SAG skip to the bottom. For information from professionals go to www.sag.org.   

It was so much fun! I was kind of nerveux since I had never done anything on camera before. My dad drove me downtown to the studio where it was being filmed. Since it's a student film I thought it would be a college campus but it was a really nice studio! I had to get a security badge to enter. We then went straight to shooting it inside a studio that said "On Air". 

We shot about seven or eight takes and they said that's all they needed. They then sent me the finished product and it was really good! All in all it was a really amazing experience! 

A lot of other very exciting things are in the workings so I will update you soon!
  
*From what I understand is that non-union is when you are in a field where you are neither SAG (Screen Actors' Guild) nor Union. After you do two union jobs (which usually pay) you get Taft-Hartley(ed) into the Union, which means you must join the Union and pay the fine.

Happy Friday!

   Bonjour mes amis, I know it has ete un long temps (been a long time, sorry for no accents, I can't figure it out on my computer). I won't lie to you, I have been to busy to blog. I've made every honor role so far (if everything goes according to my current GPA) and am determined to get a 4.0. Last trimester i got a 3.98 and didn't get a 4.0 because I had a B+ in math. One percentage point away!!! Ugh! I also have attended my first dance competition and am going to attend my 2nd next weekend. 

I'm sure all of us are very happy the week is over so we can sleep in. Tomorrow is my best friends (well one of my best friends :) birthday party sleepover thing and the theme is 'The Help'! Have any of you guys see the movie or read the book? 

Meilleur film jamais! Best movie ever! Anyways, me and my friends are all wearing pretty flowery print dresses like from the 1950's and 1960's! We're eating chocolate pie and fried chicken like from the movie and book!

Bonjour mes amis! You all know how much I love to dance and today is my favorite day because I have Hip Hop, Jazz, go upstairs and eat dinner with my dance friends, and then go to Company Rehearsal.

 My category for this outfit was kind of fairytale/party girl. Here is my inspiration:

My favorite part of this sketch is the peter pan collar. It has multiple "petals" because I wanted it to be special and thought it would look more like a fairytale. For the bottom half I wanted to do a pencil skirt that is more form fitting since the top is more loose. The three main colors I used for this dress was gypsy gold, pink princess, and black.

Free Thoughts Friday

Bonjour mes amis! It's Friday!!! And for this Friday I'm starting something new called Free Thoughts Friday. It's basically where I reflect upon my week and tell you all about it:

Monday- Day off of school for Dr. Martin Luther King! Yahoo! Business as usual, did a successful cleaning of my room. 

Tuesday- First day back since the three day weekend. Kind of sucked since no one likes the first day back. Only thing that got me through the day was ballet at 5-6 and breakdancing at 8-8:45! 

Wednesday- Was a pretty awesome day for no reason! I guess I was just pumped having dance after school. Hip at 4-5, Jazz from 5-6 and then Company from 7:45-8:30. Interesting Fact: Old kind-of friend from elementary school tried out my Hip Hop class and might do my Jazz class. Now she goes to a different school and we aren't friends. 

Thursday- Didn't go to school, had endocrinologist (basically a diabetes doctor) appointment and didn't get back in time to finish school day. Then went to younger brother, (nickname) Juju's, dance company practice while my mom worked the front desk of dance. Hung out with dance friends and stretched while I watched him dance.

Friday- Had a pretty-not fun day at school. Went home early in the name of diabetes. Wasn't a great Friday :(

Sophia Lucia!!!

FYI: This is a total Dance Moms Season 3, episode 3 spoiler alert!!!

In the newest episode of Dance Moms, all the Dance Moms are off strike and decide Kelly has to convince Abby Lee Miller herself to let her kids back on the team. Smart idea ladies, your poor children just want to dance! 

Then all of the old team besides the fabulous Sophia Lucia is replaced and the original dance kids come in and form a team all together! It's like the dream team! While Sophia is tearing apart the choreo the Dance Moms are upstairs complaining. Big surprise there <-- sarcastic font. They are mad because Sophia Lucia's mother is super nice and pretty and actually tries to get along with everyone. 

Now if you thought you were a super great dancer, prepare to be disappointed! Sophia has broken the Guinness World Record for pirouettes in a row. She did 56 in a row!!! 

  
             Did I mention that she's crazy flexible! 

I think Maddie feels she's not the best anymore and I think so does her mom! Uh oh, I feel a catfight coming on!

Back from Break

Bonjour mes amis! Eh bien, il est temps de l'école! It's time to go back to school! Oh course last Monday was the toughest because you have to get back in the groove but now that I'm ready to start up again that doesn't mean I don't look forward to the weekend! 

It was also my first week back to dance. I was counting down the days, trust me! It also means we begin working on our recital dances! Yahoo! I think I'm most excited about my hip hop and ballet dances. In ballet every person in the class gets a special solo or tidbit in the dance. I was one of the first three people to be picked to do my little solo. I do an arabesque on the right and an arabesque on the left and even though it's small I still love it! 

We are also working on our Hip Hop dance. My competitive team already has finished working on ours which is "As Long As You Love Me" by Justin Bieber. For my actual hip hop class we are doing a "Too Close" by Alex Clare and "My Boyfriends Back" by The Angels or a cover of the song (I'm not sure), mash-up! It looks awesome! Trust me on this one!

Dance Moms Marathon!

Bonjour dancers (or reality TV addicts)! I'm not sure you all know but Dance Moms is like, my favorite TV show; and the season 3 premieres today! Horray! The past two days I've been having a Dance Moms Season 1 and 2 marathon to get in the spirit. 

If you're knew to hearing the name Dance Moms, I'll tell you about the TV show. Firstly you should know that it's a reality TV show, second it's addicting. It follows six dancers who compete on a competitive dance company with there cray-cray dance moms! The Dance Moms are their moms, obviously, and they aren't always all sugar daddy sweet. And I'm sugar coating their behavior.

Now if you ask me my favorite dancer I would probably say it's little Mackenzie. But I also like Chloe and Maddie. I like Chloe because she reminds me of one of my best friends and she's down-to-earth. I like Maddie because she's competitive like me and would die without dance(like me also).
